Christmas Decor Tips You’ll Love
The holiday season is here, and with it comes the magic of transforming our homes into a warm, festive cocoon space! Christmas decor goes beyond the classic red and green to create something personal and beautiful that can fit any style. Here are some tips and ideas for creating that cozy, elegant holiday look that will make your home feel magical for you and your guests. And don’t worry—I've linked some of my favorite decor finds to make shopping for these items as easy as possible!
1. Choose a Color Theme That Fits Your Style
When you think of holiday decor don’t think of just red, green, and gold. This year, think outside the box with modern color palettes. Silvers and frosty blues are great for a winter wonderland vibe, even blush pinks and metallics can bring a trendy twist. For a neutral, earthy tones with pops of evergreen make for a cozy cabin feel, personally I would use that colour palette for my home decor. Starting off with some small touches, look for festive decorative elements that you can easily incorporate. For example, check these out below, by clicking on the images.

3. Embrace Greenery (And Mix Real with Faux)
One of the best ways to bring the season indoors is with plenty of greenery! You can mix fresh pine branches with faux garlands to create a full, layered look that smells amazing. Wrap them around banisters, frame your doors, or drape them across your mantel. Adding little touches of pinecones and berries can bring even more holiday warmth.

4. Add a Glow with String Lights and Candles
Lighting is key to creating that warm, festive atmosphere, especially as the days get shorter. From string lights to pillar candles, soft lighting brings the missing touch to your decor and feel of the space. Battery-operated candles are also great for a “worry-free” glow throughout the season. Another idea is fairy lights tucked into glass jars or draped around windows. You can achieve those looks by experimenting on the corners of your room. Don’t miss areas like the ceiling, bed frame or windows!
5. Layer Your Table Settings for a Festive Feast
Now comes the time to thing about this year’s holiday dinner and how to make your guests feel even more special with a beautifully decorated table. Try layering your table with a table runner, festive plates, and cloth napkins tied with twine and a sprig of rosemary or pine. If you want to go all out, add in small ornaments or mini pinecones at each place setting for a personal touch that guests will remember.
8. Set the Holiday Mood with Seasonal Scents
And my favourite part of all… here come the scents! Whether it’s a pine-scented candle, a cinnamon and clove diffuser, or even stovetop potpourri, seasonal scents can make your home feel festive and inviting. As I am a major candle lover, I aim for products that are non-toxic, plant based, natural and sustainable. This is very important as you breathe the air infused with the particles that the candle emits. Keeping that in mind, here are some of my recommendations and hand picks. Always look for soy wax, bee wax or even coconut oil based candles. Scent is a powerful way to create memories, and it will make all your holiday decorating feel even more magical.
Decorating for the holidays is all about creating a warm, inviting space that you love and that reflects your unique style. With these tips and some beautiful seasonal decor pieces, you can create a festive, cozy haven that will make the season even more special. Happy decorating, and may your holidays be filled with warmth and cheer ✨
